Trompe L'oeil Artist Murals & More Completes IR-G Mural
A 750-square-foot hand-painted illusion, two months in the making — watch it come to life below.

Drive past 1500 Elm Hill Pike in Nashville today, and it looks like the wall has been peeled open. Behind the brick, an emergency scene unfolds — bold, unexpected, and impossible to miss.
It's not real, of course. It's trompe l'oeil — the "fool the eye" painting technique that uses realistic detail and forced perspective to trick the brain into seeing depth where there's only a flat wall. Murals & More spent more than two months hand-painting this 750-square-foot custom wall mural for IR-G (Industrial Rubber & Gasket), a Nashville-based distributor of hydraulic hose, industrial hose, gaskets, couplings, and fittings.
Why an Emergency Scene?
"With trompe l'oeil, you get one shot to make someone stop at a red light and look twice," says Michael Cooper, Owner/Muralist of Murals & More. "An emergency room scene does that instantly — bold, unexpected on an industrial building, and impossible to forget."
Watch It Come to Life
The entire process — from bare brick wall to finished illusion — was captured on time-lapse camera. Watch above to see two months of hand-painting compressed into minutes: the underdrawing, the layering, the moment the perspective finally clicks into place.
