Bellevue, TN YMCA

This particular pool project was a lot of fun. Well, if you consider painting in a sweltering sauna a fun project. Actually, they finally turned on the de-humidifiers, so the room was very comfortable.

The idea here was to use the entire wall, without PAINTING the entire wall. Budgetary constraints. So we came up with portholes. The directors really liked what we did in Virginia (Lynchburg YMCA), but I didn’t want to do the same thing. But I would do a variation on the theme. Came off pretty good.
I thought that it would be interesting to feature a "before" and "after" to show you exactly what I had to work with. This really turned into a fun wall. Especially since all of the kids belong to someone at the Y. Met them all at a local climbing wall to take some reference photos. Probably ended up with over 200 shots, and used about, what? Seven? You never know. I will say this, more than one person was thrilled to know that the Y had a climbing wall. I hated to be the one to break their heart, but...

Oh, BTW, the thing with the train...There is a park in Bellevue, where the Y is located, that is called Red Caboose Park. Been there for over 30 years. Real popular. Nice to have a local connection.
