The Arts Company
hello
Talk about taking a while to get a project off of the ground! I started talking to Anne Brown, the owner of The Arts Company, about 8 years ago regarding painting her garage door. Now, this door is not any ordinary door. It leads out in an alley in downtown Nashville, where all sorts of…well…interesting individuals, shall we say….like to hang out. It seems that we went back and forth forever on design, cost of the project, etc. We never came to any real conclusions. Until, that is, when one her clients expressed interest in a mural. I told her, “If I get a decent project out of this, I’ll paint your garage door for you.” Well, you know the rest of the story.
Whole thing took about 10 days to do. That’s architect Ron Gobbell on the left, owner of the building, with Anne on the right. A generic 1930’s bathing beauty is in the background.

We titled this, “Not Your Ordinary Downtown Dive”. Cute, huh? I should at least get a decent martini out of this, don’t you think?
